....Since the UK analogue TV switch-off has already started it is now time to go Digital....

  It seems there is much confusion surrounding Digital Switch-over and its very common for consumers to believe they need to purchase a new TV, or that they must get 'High Definition' screens, or that they need to pay for Aerial upgrades...
Digital TV does not need to be complicated, High Definition does not need to be confusing, you just need fully independent advice from someone that isn't tied to 1 company or 1 product, & not working on commissions.

Firstly, it is surprising that residents of our local area still choose Freeview when it clearly has reception problems & channel limitations. The cost of digital aerial upgrade can be huge, and still not solve the reception issues!
 Coastal areas will always suffer with lower Terrestrial reception, just like we have for many years
with our analogue Channel 5, so don't expect things to improve soon.....

Secondly, we don't have the option of Cable TV in our area, so Satellite is the only way for reliable Digital reception.
The screen picture & audio is superior to low powered analogue broadcasts, the channel choice is unbeatable, so its certainly not a second-rate service.  Basically, our experience is that most consumers seem completely unaware that you can already get "freeview-by-satellite", and that's why nobody chooses it!

 

                                                           

Discussing Digital Satellite TV produces three common myths that local consumers seem to have:

Lots of homes already have a satellite dish installed, which may help save you money if upgrading, and one small dish can provide channels on multiple TV's and in many rooms too. Freesat has much to offer, with more channels than Freeview, totally without subscription charges, at relatively low set-up cost compared with Digital aerial upgrades.
The future will soon bring more developments from freesat and you may begin to see more advertising as Argos, Comet, Currys, Tesco and other large stores begin to sell freesat products. Sky also offer their own version of freesat, known as Free-sat-from-sky.

This isn't widely advertised since they prefer subscription business, but we are able to offer the Free-sat-from-sky installations too.

     High Definition Television

Sky Digital and freesat both offer 'High Definition' versions of their satellite receivers.
To gain the higher quality video images you will require an HD-ready television screen,
such as modern flat-screen LCD or Plasma television panels.


Please do not be confused, High Definition is an OPTION, not compulsory for digital Tv reception!
 



 High definition, HD-ready, 'HDMI' or HD quality is all about making the most
of your new high resolution screen, providing video images that are more detailed, as well as higher quality sound too.   



Additionally, as another option, you can upgrade to 'PVR' or 'Plus'
versions of equipment, that provide recording abilities.

HD-PVR ; HD+ ; Sky+HD ; PVR function ; Sky HD+ ; HD Plus all simpy mean the
addition of ability to record or pause live tv, as well as other added features.
